Davis Colors

Concrete Ideas

A Glyphix client for over 10 years, Davis Colors is a subsidiary of the giant Rockwood Holdings conglomerate, and they manufacture and distribute pigments for concrete, mortar and paints as well as associated products such as sealants. As the company has grown over the past decade, Glyphix has designed several websites to reflect Davis Colors' changing needs and evolving identity. The newest website, which went on-line late in 2008, focuses on showing customers the potential uses and practical applications of Davis Colors' line of products. The user-friendly interface makes it simple for any customer to choose from a palette of colors or develop one of their own, see how it would look in real life, then find a supplier and place an order. For people in the construction industry, the site makes it easy for them to spec Davis Colors right into their projects. The result is strong and steady growth in site traffic and increase in visibility.

Extensis

Extensis

There Are HOW Many Helveticas?

Fonts are a big deal, and the right font can make or break an entire campaign. (Whether you agree or not, it’s an absolute truth. Ask a designer.) Suitcase Fusion, from Extensis, is arguably the best known font management application available today. When Extensis decided to add an online font store to the Suitcase Fusion interface, they contacted Glyphix to develop the font store's functionality as well as the user interface. Our flexible and intuitive interface design gave users the ability to perform elaborate font searches, create "wish lists" from those search results, and purchase those fonts without ever leaving the Suitcase Fusion application. Because fonts are indeed a big deal, but being able to find and purchase those fonts easily is an even bigger deal.

Farmers Insurance

Farmers Insurance

Ever Wonder Where “User Friendly” Comes From?

As they were preparing to re-engineer their massive policy processing system, Farmers Insurance, one of the largest insurers in the country, realized that no matter how much time or money they spent developing the perfect back end to their system, it would mean nothing if the front end user interface was too challenging for their agents to use. They brought Glyphix in to design and develop a functioning proof of concept user interface that tied several of Farmers' disparate systems into one seamless site. That proof of concept served as the basis for live user testing, as the core of presentations intended to secure more internal funding, as a test bed for how several divisions could work more closely together and as a clear specification used by IT to generate accurate cost estimates to build it.
